Assist a family member with yard work, snow shoveling, cleaning, health care, transportation (or online connections) to church, etc...
Pick up litter at a park or your neighborhood sidewalks. Wear gloves, use old tongs to pick up items. Dispose properly. Recycle if able.
Use your talents to knit, crochet or sew: scarves, blankets, mittens, etc., for babies, children, seniors or homeless.
Donate non-perishable food to St. Lawrence for our food pantry. Participate in a Pro-Life walk or (virtual) prayer event. October is Pro-Life Month.
Volunteer at a Soup Kitchen; Gleaners Food Bank; or Trinity Lutheran Soup & Shower Sundays.
Participate in Catholic Charities Mercy in Action Day, usually in October. Watch Forum for details.
Donate cards, letters, or gift cards to our Soldiers and Veterans as requested by organizations such as Support Our Troops https://supportourtroops.org/donate, Desert Angels http://thedesertangel.org/help.htm, or others you may know or already support.
Give your parents a well-deserved break: help with chores, meals, or childcare – over and above what you normally would do. For example: plan, prepare, serve, and clean up all your meals on Saturday. If you have a younger sibling, then read to them or help them with their school work. Write your parents a thank-you card for all they do!
Help with donations and/or meals for MCREST when St. Lawrence is hosting. Details will be in the Forum. Personal size toiletries, socks and mittens are often the most needed. MCREST serves families with children, as well as men and women. https://www.mcrest.org/donate
Organize friends to make cards or collect donations for a Senior Home (contact the Activities Director first)
Thank our priests, police, fire fighters, medical workers and teachers. Give them flowers, bake cookies and/or write thank you cards and deliver them to those who have been working hard to keep everything going.
Be an aide in a CRE class.
